Busseys are Quality Check league champions

Busseys’ Thorpe Road branch in Norwich are RAC Qcheck league champions.  Between January 2008 and May 2009 they had 30 RAC Quality Check inspections where zero defects were identified in their standard of workmanship.  Their nearest competitors only had 26 zero defect inspections.  Assistant Service Manager, Adam Munford said “We are pleased to have won this award. Our technicians at our Thorpe Road branch of Busseys strive on providing high class workmanship for all our customers.  I personally have carried out random spot checks on various vehicles, checking that they all meet the standards required.  I’m pleased to say, that as this award has proven, Busseys technician’s all work to the same high class of workmanship.  A big well done to all our members of staff at Thorpe Road for ensuring that Busseys stay top of their class with all the work they carry out”.

The RAC Service Workshop Quality programme was introduced in 2005 to provide all Ford Authorised Repairers with the tools to efficiently monitor the standard of work carried out in their workshops.  The programme involves each Authorised Repairer conduction quality checks (at least 10% of throughput) on customers’ vehicles that have had work carried out to ensure it has been conducted in accordance with Ford’s high standards.

Each workshop also receives a number of unannounced quality checks from RAC specialists.  To date the programme has produced impressive results, with the “average number of defects found per vehicle” decreasing by over 50%.

In mid-2007 Ford introduced the Qcheck system across the dealer network with the intention of simplifying QC reporting as well as providing workshops with enhanced results of their QCs.  This allows workshops to pinpoint quality issues requiring investigation.
